My term 4 reflection

Term 4 Reflection What have you enjoyed the most this term and why? I have enjoyed the mystery celebration because it made me curious on what kind of perk I get in every sticker. I have enjoyed mosaicing in Impact because all of our hard work on gluing them on paid off. I have enjoyed swimming because I have been learning how to do backstroke without a board. What has been challenging this term and why? Mosaicing was quite challenging because we ran out of tiles in the final bit, and I keep on getting cuts from the sharp bits. I found swimming challenging because sometimes I forget to blow bubbles so I get a headache. Athletics was very challenging because I had to pick up a pace in the 800 metres run. What are you looking forward to next year? Camp because it will be my first camp and it will be thrilling.

My Homework Progress

My Homework Challenge Progress 📖Plan: I was planning to mosaic with a milk bottle. At first it was hard because every time I spun the wheely chair, I kept on bumping it so I have to start again. I had to overcome that challenge  by using a chair that doesn’t spin. I’m still planning to add to it. 📓Idea: ⇨Outcome: ◕ Progress: I got my milk bottle and washed it. I got my scissors and cut random shapes from my milk bottle. I placed the pieces to my circle foam board to make my letters and shapes. I got some of my marbles to put on as tips and etc. I got my hot glue gun and glued my pieces on.
Labour Day In New Zealand, Labour Day is a public holiday held on the fourth Monday in October. It’s traced back to the eight-hour working day movement that arose in the newly founded Wellington colony in 1840, because of Samuel Parnell not wanting to work more than eight hours a day. He encouraged other people to also work for only eight hours a day and in October 1840, a workers' meeting passed a resolution supporting the idea. On 28 October 1890, the 50th anniversary of the eight-hour day was commemorated with a parade. In 1899 government legislated that the day will be a public holiday from 1900. The day was celebrated on different days in different towns. This led to ship owners complaining that seamen were taking too many holidays by having one Labour Day in one port then another in their next port. In 1910, the government declared that the holiday would be observed on the same day throughout the country. Of course, my sister and I thought about something silly to d...
The Learning in The Making Conference ‘16 Friday was The Learning in The Making Conference. The school has it every year so students have an opportunity to learn something new from other people too. My favorite workshop was the paracord wristband one because I learned how to make them and I used resilience on starting because I was confused with the starting knot then, I watched Mrs. Blunden do the knots, so I did the same thing she did then I succeeded. I also got teamwork skills from team building because we had hard puzzles. My favorite puzzle was the Simpsons puzzle and we were supposed to cross the river. But I had to stay because I had to be with Marge because I was Maggie. Lisa(Summer) had to stay with Marge too. Our team lost because the other team cheated. We still had fun, though.
My Holiday Recount My holiday was not the best holiday, but it wasn’t the worst one either. On the first Friday, we went to Hamilton and were there for the whole day. My favourite part was when we got Shopkins in one of the stores. My least favourite part was when we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond because there were chairs everywhere and I was tempted to sit in them. Then on Monday, we went to Dress smart. My two favourite parts were that there were lots of cool stuff and cotton candy. I think the worst part was when we had to walk everywhere and it was tiring.
Term 3 Reflection What have you enjoyed the most this term and why? I have enjoyed the Whetu Choir the most this term because we all get to sing together. I have enjoyed Impact meetings and how Impact replaces writing meetings because we don’t have to worry about having  different group meetings in a week. I think I really like handwriting every Monday and Tuesday because we get to practice our handwriting skills. What has been challenging this term and why? It’s been challenging how my Impact group is doing mosaic and how we need to do a mock up before the tile mosaic. Handwriting is very challenging because we have to: slope, flick and do proper sizing. So far, having meetings every day is very challenging because I don’t have a no meeting day. What are you looking forward to next term and why? Next term I am looking forward to starting our impact project like starting our tile mosaic, because it sounds really exciting to find out how much teamwork...
My Impact I’m in the Whetu art area group. In our Impact project we are up to making a mock up mosaic for the wall. We have accomplished planning what we’re doing. We have been planning to make a mosaic in the wall, do a fold up table and do a chalk board wall. What we need to be doing next would probably be finishing the mock up mosaic so we can start our tile mosaic. I’m enjoying our mock up designing so far. I am certainly enjoying everything we’ve been doing. Our aim for our impact is to do our mosaic on the wall.
